Un-Resistable Surfaces: Glazing Workshop

  • Maker House 1351 Holiday Hill Road Goleta, CA, 93117 United States (map)

Ready to take your ceramic work to the next level? This glazing workshop is designed for students who want to refine their surface techniques and gain more control and confidence in their finished pieces. In this session, we’ll explore a range of glaze resist methods, including: - Wax resist for clean lines, layered glazing, and preserving surface details - Paper resist for bold shapes, silhouettes, and graphic patterning - Tape resist for crisp edges, geometric designs, and structured compositions We’ll cover the best timing and application techniques for each method, helping you understand when and how to use resist techniques to enhance depth and visual impact in your work. Students will have the opportunity to experiment with new approaches and practice on unclaimed bisqueware provided in the studio. You’re also welcome to bring your own bisqueware pieces to personalize. Come ready to experiment and push your glazing skills further!
